2007 CRT Ten 0 Shootout Champion

A letter from Lonnie: 2008 will enter my 15th year behind the wheel of a race car. I am very excited to compete in the CRT 10.0 class after a fair amount of success in its' inaugural year. I am currently riding an 11 round win streak in the 10.0 class. Many thanks need to be offered. I would like to thank my father Larry Smith who also competes regularly in this class for the countless hours to rebuild my car this off season, Nick Wilson at Compuflow head service for finding an extremely large amount of power out of my little motor, John Holt race cars for redoing a rollcage many years out of date and making me feel very comfortable in the seat, my wife and baby boy for allowing me to participate in these events, and my sponsor Cook Shack BarBq for giving me enough grub to feed anyone who may be hungry at the track on Saturday nights. A very special thanks goes to John Cope for organizing this series. For a truly unique experience watch this unfold from the stand, there is truly nothing like two cars against the rev limiters waiting for a .400 tree to flash its ambers.
